RANDOM ACTS OF CARTOONING Dear Brent,
You may not recall but you gave me a drawing this morning in a coffee
shop. A gesture, I suspect you may every now and then do this,
choose someone at random, a small gesture - a big gift. I was
momentarily in a dark place. I wanted to thank you for changing my
outlook and brightening my day. I will keep your drawing as a
reminder to myself that there are extraordinary people to be found,
or even ordinary people who every once in a while do extraordinary
things (at the precise moment that it makes a difference).
Thank you again!

I just wanted to say thank you for the cartoon and the quote. I love
butterflies. It made my day.
I always knew that I was shite at hiding my emotions - but not so bad that it
inspired the pity of a complete stranger! Clearly something I need to work on.
I had to laugh when I went to your web-site and I saw that you were a humour
resources specialist - firstly because I'm clearly in dire need of a humour
specialist and secondly because I work in human resources. :)
So thank you.

cup of chai latte'...

Ahh hooy hoy there Brent,
Well I just returned from out the back to the shop to find your
wonderful cartoon awaiting. Thank you so very much it, is just marvelous!
I have put it up in the shop for a giggle every time I walk
past. I hope that your time in Newtown has been lovely for you and that you
have found some delightful opportunities in Sydney.
Looking forward to bumping into you around.
Take care
Renee

Thank you - To Brent Harpur of NZ, whoever you are, thank you....
I was on a train home from Sydney CBD to Campbelltown this afternoon,
I was incredibly engulfed in a book I was reading. I had the worst day ever at
work and then I had some rude person sit next to me on the train.
As I was getting into my book I noticed a gentleman drawing on a pad in the
carriage, not taking any notice as I had such an awful day and just wanted to
read my book... I let it go.
Then to my surprise, later on during the journey, that man with the pad hands
me a rolled up piece of paper and says its a gift.
On the pad was a caricature of me reading, with "when I want to travel to a new
world, I read a book." (H.G Wells). It was signed Brent Harpur.
I had a few people ask to see it when you got off the train, it made me so
happy to see there are still nice people out there. That even if it is a small
thing they still do it and it makes such a difference.
When I got home and showed my wife she even said that it's true, that when I
start reading my books I forget everything around me. I found your website and
had to email it.
If I had a talent like you to see and then draw what people feel, I would be so
happy for a gift that I can then give to others. I will have that picture
framed and hung in my house.
You made my day great again - thank you!

Hi Brent,
I just wanted to say thanks again for the picture & conversation.
It was a nice change from the normal trip home, and my wife was quite
impressed that I had a cartoon when she picked me up from the station.
As we were talking about games yesterday, I thought I would show you what I
have made:
www.blurryvisiongames.blogspot.com/
The picture at the back of the tetris game was by my wife (along with all
other graphics except the robot in sokoban). I'm lucky she has artistic
abilities, or making good looking games would be much harder!
Good luck with the ballerina's & tutu wearing mice at your gig!

Subject: The Impossible Mission
Hey there!
I was at a cafe on King St and I received a lovely message from the universe!
"What this world needs is more people who specialise in the impossible"...
Thank you messenger! Was a good inspiration! I actually just came back after 4
years of traveling Europe and living in Barcelona for 3 years. In these four
years I think my mission was to challenge myself to accomplish the impossible,
and break all my boundaries. Its been a month since I have been back and I feel
like the biggest foreigner here yet everything seems a little harder! These
impossibles are gonna be a little more tricky! But I am inspired and up for the
challenge! And the moment I recieved your messege was a significant one!
So thank you for the wise words! And keep doing it cos it was the best thing
that has happened to me!
Take care!
And Good luck with the impossible!
